How old was your child when they experienced their first major injury?

Fathers day was kind of a disaster for us yesterday. While visiting my in-laws my daughter (almost 3) was running on their patio and fell, busting her lip after biting through it. She now has 4 stitches in her lower lip, my poor bug. How about your kids?

*knock on wood* they havent had any major injuries. They are 4,5 and 8. Not a single stitch, broken bone or concussion.. Ive been to the er a few times but mainly over things like an earinfection on late saturday when nothing else is open or a swallowed quarter.. he didnt choke on it but the dr wanted x-rays anyways) or sand in the eye, or high fever etc...

I however fell down and busted my head open on my 4th birthday, after the party and the guest went home, and have a vivid memory of laying in our tub while my parents called 911 to keep me from bleeding all over the floors lol they actually ended up driving me themselves with a towel over my head and I still have a ( barely noticable anymore) scar of about 3 incehes on my forehead. I ahd like 6 ot 7 stitches on it..

But yeah.. still waiting.... fingers crossed :)

Aww! We have had a few, but none I would call major - moderate, at most:

8 yr old son - collided w/sister, killed root of tooth, age 4; was landed on by fallen brother, broke collar bone, age 5; collided w/sister again, broke nose, age 7

7 yr old daughter - goose eggs from both collisions, ages 3 & 5, respectively; jumped off grandma's couch, broke foot, age 4

Somehow, the other two kids have not had any injuries to speak of!

when I first examine your question identify i presumed "no way, she's too youthful and that is too long". reading something of your question, i'm uncertain. i think of it truly relies upon on how close you reside to Germany. because of the fact mutually as you may sense like your individuals are good and truthful and can be relied upon to look after her, perhaps something comes up and that they might't. Use your man or woman instinct and so on yet even in the adventure that your daughter is valuable and knows what she's doing, issues can continuously pass abdomen up. i think of for now, perhaps the two pass together with her or for a shorter time, perhaps one to 2 weeks max. Then whilst she is a sprint older, perhaps 17 or 18, there is many times courses that run from 6 weeks to three months if she had to stay with a number of family individuals or perhaps pass to a German college for slightly if she isn't already fluent interior the language. even whilst i became 20 my mom became nevertheless frightened approximately me going distant places by utilising myself (notably after she became stupid adequate to observe the action picture "Taken"). Shady human beings can many times tell whilst somebody could be a sprint susceptible. as properly, if she has the prospect to artwork to save up funds (and have you ever help with that) then she would be in a position to in all risk savour and appreciate it greater whilst she finally gets there and would savour an prolonged stay without her dad disapproving (or a minimum of without wanting his permission). and that i realize it feels like the daddy is at fault right here, yet attempt asking him why he won't approve and spot if he's directly to something or has holes in his good judgment to be poked at.

Josh split his chin open after tumbling off a pile of cobble stones when he was about 4.
