How come people don't make a big deal out of other royal weddings?

I mean there are royal families all over the world and other monarchies.. how come we never hear of their families and their weddings ETC ? Why is all the attention on the British royal families all the time? Not to sound ignorant or anything, just a thought..

Update:

I live in Canada and still don't hear anything about other royal families unless I do my own research online.

The Windsors are the very last of the old-fashioned, honest to goodness, European style royalty who continues to know that most of their own citizenry...and the citizens of other countries.....love all the pageantry and glamour that is associated with old-fashioned over-the-top royalty.

There is nothing interesting or glamorous about a pack of royals who behave like office clerks....I mean, WHO cares? That's why no one much cares what goes on in the lives of a lot of other royals in other countries....they look and act too much like office clerks and shopkeepers....and people see enough of that in their own lives already.

So...nothing really to do with Diana. People have been fascinated by the UK royal family style of being royal for centuries ....and continue to be fascinated by the glamour and beauty of times gone by.

Partly because this one was the future head of state of YOUR COUNTRY.

Partly because the royal family of the UK is the one that most people have ties to, and most people are interested in.

The Crown Princess of Sweden was married last summer, and it was hardly a blip on the radar (she was a beautiful bride, btw). The infantes of Spain were married with little international fanfare, though I believe they might have had some notice in the Hispanic world, more than in the English speaking world. The Crown Prince of Denmark's wife just had twins. They were christened the same week as the wedding. Not much notice, there.

Because most of the world either speaks English, or was at one time, or is now part of the British Empire/Commonwealth of Nations, and as such, is interested in the British Royal Family.

Well, here in the UK it is of interest because they are our royal family, and William is our future head of state. But why they should be of interest to people in other countries I could not say. Maybe because it is a colourful spectacle?

Because Canada is part of the Commonwealth

I guess, in America at least, England has the most well-known monarchy in Europe.

Because no one can put on a show like we British ! If you going to put on a show ,do it right. All others just follow the best at it ,simple !

I suppose because of lady Diana. Her life story is inspiring, and her death is tragic. To see her legacy live on and carried on by her son and his wife is attracting. People also want to see how Kate middleton can handle royal life. I mean, shes not royal at all.

ALSO, they wanted to see if her dress was like Diana or if she was going to follow in Diana's steps

Because lots of people read about them in the press and watch them on TV and lots of people (including you) talk endlessly about them.
