How can I put this song with my slideshow?

I'm about to throw something.

I've made a MS Powerpoint slideshow, and I want to play a song in the background (the full song). i can't put any music with the presentation because it's an mp3 file. I think it needs to be wav? Or something.

I have tried using video editing software to put the song in the backgroun afterward, but the video editor didn't recognise the powerpoint slideshow, so I couldn't use it.

It's so frustrating. Any suggestions?

Update:

Can I get the slides that I've already made in powerpoint, into the movie maker?
