What TV show should I pick up?

Question

So I was a huge fan of LOST when it was on the air, and since it ended I have been looking for a suitable replacement. I watched Heroes but lost interest as the seasons went on. I watched FlashForward which was a disappointment and got cancelled, and I am watching V (2009) as well, which I love. This past fall I began watching the Event, which I love, but unfortunately has just been cancelled as well.

So I am looking for a show, past, present or future to start watching. I watched the first half of season 1 of Fringe, and wasn't completely sold but will give it a chance if need be. I was also considering visiting the Ex Files as I love David Duchovny an it seems to fit my style. There are also all of the Stargate or Star Trek shows but I don't know where to start with all those. And of course if anyone has heard anything about upcoming shows that is much appreciated as well.

X-Files is great but I have to say you quit Fringe right before it got good.  The first season wasn't super appealing but it ends amazing and season 2 is really good (3 too).  You should try watching at least through the season.  Doctor Who and Torchwood are great. Carnivale (only 2 seasons and ends on cliffhanger though, but amazing show).

I'd go with x files if i couldnt get dr who anymore lol, was never a big stargate or star trek fan but if you do go with the others next generation is the better star trek and the original stargate and stargate Atlantis are the better choices

You should definitely start with Stargate SG-1. It sets the story for the entire series. I would even recommend watching the movie first [with Kurt Russell]. These are great shows, definitely give them a try!

Star Trek Enterprise is a great series. It's good if you're not familiar with the "Star Trek universe". Deep Space Nine is also good, but you might want to watch Next Generation first for context (then again, Next Generation's good, too!).

why don't you try Supernatural?? It'not exactly as x-files, but it is also full of adventure, mystery and not to mention awesome and funny characters!! give it a try if you fancy! ;)
