Ugh...how can I be a cleaner and sharper cheerleader?

We're doing a dance and I know EVERYTHING in the dance, except everyone keeps bugging me to be cleaner and sharper. I think I am being sharp and clean, but apparently I'm not? How do you be cleaner and sharper while dancing? Like do you flex your arms the whole time or what? HELP!

    Watch yourself in the mirror.

When you are sharp you will almost feel like a robot - hitting every move.

If you aren't sharp, your arms will be bendy and almost half a count late.

To be cleaner, watch arm placement (be aware of situations when one arm is up and doing something and the other one is not given a movement. if that's the case, you want to make sure that arm stays where it is supposed to while the other is doing its next move)

When I think of sharpness I think of being almost mad, hitting every count. Its like if you were taking a picture of your movement, you don't want it to blur. If you are hitting something sharp you will know because your arms will kill - if you watch yourself in the mirror at home - you will be able to help correct yourself and know where you need to be sharper. Try the dance even faster than it is - it will force you to hit each count

When you dance sharp you have to have quick, solid movement. No in between noodle stuff. Be sure of the move and don't hold anything back. Just go for it, otherwise you just be the blah cheerleader that the crowd doesn't notice. Keep your arms tight and straight (or whatever they are supposed to be). Watch others and be sure of your counts to stay clean. Like I said before, make sure you KNOW the move. Have it planted in your brain so you can be completely confident when doing it. :)

You might just be doing the moves so fast that you're unsteady with the motion, try slowing it down a bit if you can and making flow more. Or you might just have to flex your muscles in your arms and make everything more stiff , like our fellow dance teachers tell us " make the energy shoot out your arms. " The problem could also be your " Floppy " and now quite" sturdy " or balances enough, so try and building up those muscles or tightening your stomach.
