Any good book recommendations?

So recently I've been finishing books left and right and I am in need of some good recommendations. I am preferably looking for a fiction novel, not too advanced, about life searching. I just finished the Catcher In The Rye and Catch 22, I really enjoyed them. Thanks for your consideration.

My number one suggestion is The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison. She's probably THE most enchanting voice of modern black American literature, and regardless of your race this book can speak to you on so many levels. Morrison's most famous novel, Beloved, is also a good read if you enjoy more historically based stories.

A Prayer for Owen Meany was also suggested above, and I second that. Along with it, if you really want to do some soul-searching, I recommend Life of Pi by Yann Martel and anything by Cormac McCarthy (especially if you're a teenager or young adult).

Source(s): I'm just a literature enthusiast. You can find a beautiful excerpt from The Bluest Eye at http://www.metamorphiction.org/2011/05/power-of-im...

SCIENCE FICTION Everyone ignores sci-fi however in reality that a few books are practically part philosophy. Read Stranger in a Strange Land by means of Robert A. Heinlein, Prey by means of Michael Crichton, and 2001: A Space Odyssey or Rendevous With Rama by means of Arthur C. Clarke. Plus, I agree that Agatha Christie is a need to-learn. After Shakespeare and the Bible, she has bought essentially the most quantity of books global ever. Her quality are And Then There Were None, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Murder at the Orient Express

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

I also recommend almost anything by Kurt Vonnegut, though he doesn't usually do much realistic fiction.
