Laptop pre-installed windows problem?
My laptop came with Windows 7 pre-installed and for some strange reason it will not do any updates, i have set the laptop back to factory settings leaving the pre-installed os on it, can i completely remove the os from the hardrive and re-install it myself, can i use a win 7 installation disc which is an upgrade disc which i already have, can i use the licence key tab which is on the laptop.
I have tried everything to get the laptop up-to-date, everytime it restarts i get the repair windows box up....anyone got any ideas please....right answer gets the 10 points
This laptop is now over a year old and now out of warranty

Contact the company you bought it from. Or do a virus scan.

With windows 7 you can create a set of backup disks with which you can do a bare metal recovery (ie. on a blank formatted drive).
You may be able to do a clean install of windows upgrade disk however
here is your link, but read below

I am not sure whether your license key on your laptop will work with the upgrade disk, and the windows 7 upgrade key may not work if you have used it on another install. So if you are going to attempt a clean upgrade install then do some backups beforehand
