Mango Allergy what kind of allergy is it?

Ok so mangos are my favorite fruit and the first few times I ate them nothing happened but one day my face just broke out into an itchy rash starting on my jaw then it took over my face my doctor thought it was poision ivy and gave me a cream which didn't work my boss gave me benidrill and POW it was gone. Of took a while for me to realize what it was bc I don't always have the reaction but when I do I'm not wearing gloves and it starts now always on my lips or ears and progresses till I take benidrill and I was wondering if there is anyway for me to eat them. My reaction has not gotten worse over time but stayed the say......

It's an allergy to Urushiol in the peels of the mango. It's the same thing that causes the reaction in poison ivy, oak or sumac.

You need to see an allergist and explain this to him/her. They can then help you to deal with the allergy that is safest for you.
