39 weeks pregnant, will be induced tomorrow, what's your experience with Cervadil?
I will be induced tomorrow at 8pm with Cervadil due to pre eclampsia. What is your experience with Cervadil?
I forgot to say, this is my 3rd baby, I have a 10 year old and a 2.5 year old and this is my 3rd. I was induced with all of them with Pitocin but never with Cervadil. I think Pitocin induces labor and Cervadil thins out the cervix.
@ Penguin it sounds like if nothing progresses by Saturday, my doc will go ahead with c section she said because of my history and pre eclampsia. Hopefully no c sections :(

Inductions with cervadil (has a string attached & can be removed if too many contractions or problems occur) or cytotec (tiny piece of a pill, placed & dissolved by the body, can almost be never be found to remove if there are problems) can take quite a while, especially if your cervix is not favorable. I am assuming that it isn't because they are using cervadil to soften you cervix instead of using pitocin to begin with. I believe they place the dose & you have to lay flat for a while or tilted to you side. (my hospital uses cytotec, so I have more experience with it.) If your cervix softens & begins to dilate, they then can start pitocin. Take plenty of thinks to do! books, games, dvds, puzzle books etc. I have seen Patients back in LD for a couple of days with this process, although everyone is different & your experience might be shorter or longer. Good luck!

Do you might have a clinical situation or soemthing improper together with your being pregnant? Really they must wait till forty weeks to urge.. why no longer allow the child come obviously and on its possess? Labor might be a lot more painful and severe in case you have the aid of pitocin, the child is not in a position to return but! You would even turn out to be with an emergency C segment.. Its foolish to do while you don't seem to be even dialated or effaced

inducing labor always hurts more than just getting labor. But keep in mind, that you will hold your baby in your arms by tomorrow. So envy you. I am 38 weeks and doesn't seem like my boy will come earlier. Just relax and be excited! Good luck
