We are going to be moving to the area soon, I am wondering the best place around Clute to live and why? My husband will be working in Clute. Are there fun things to do? Good schools? Good restaurants? Access to the water with our boat? Nursing jobs? Good weather? Night life? Shopping? Cost of living reasonable? Etc.....

To live: Alvin, Lake Jackson, Rosharon.
Fun things to do? Boating on Clear Lake, 20 mins away, Galveston 40mins. Sky Diving @ 1-800-Sky-Dive in Rosharon,Tx.
Good schools? Alvin,Tx. are good.
Good restaurants? Come to Clear Lake area, on Bay Area blvd.
Nursing jobs? There are plenty of Hospitals and Pvt duty jobs in your field.
Good weather? It's been really nice for the past 3 months no rain yet. Going to be hot in June-August.
NIght Life? Head to Downtown for clubs or Westheimer area.
Shopping is several places: Westheimer, go east and there's all kinds of shops "Taxi Taxi" store has cheap womens clothes that are high end.
Cost of living is ok, should be better near Clute or Alvin, than in the Westheimer are. There's nothing to do in CLute area. Watch the cars rust, mostly farm land out there.

Lake Jackson would probably have more housing. Water is within a short drive. Small town America with lots of great amenities nearby. Not far from Houston with tons of shopping.
