What foods have high protein for my dog?
I know eggs have protein but what other foods are there?
She's currently being fed some baby food and chicken deli meat because she is very malnurished due to having open pyometra; I didn't realize she lost a whole pound of weight until after her uterus was taken out.
-And YES, a WHOLE POUND is a LOT because my dog is supposed to be 2.4 pounds at the very least. She is a 4 year old yorkshire terrier and needs protein to recover from her surgery.
Please and thank you!
ALSO dry foods are out of the question as they had to pull some teeth becuase they rotted out- yorkies naturally have bad teeth :(

I feed my dog Evo (Innova) Weight Management. There are no grains (love it) and is high in protein. The store told me I ought to go with Taste of the West because it is grain free and is lower in protein . The guy at the store said more protein, more weight, but that isn't true. My dog lost 2 pounds within a month (she weighed 32, now she's lost even more) My dog turned up her nose at Taste of the Wild. Do some research on Evo (Innova) and I think that will help allay any trepidation you may have.

Boil up some hamburger & rice or chicken & rice. Either one works great. It is a main stay at rescues to help a malnourished dog to get back on its feet again.
Hamburger & chicken are both high protein.

Be sure she stays hydrated.

Try some full fat cottage cheese or maybe some plain (not vanilla or any other flavor) yogurt. Stay away from the deli meat though, they put preservatives in the, including sugar which clearly your dog doesn't need.
