Why do people tend to consider they live in the best country of the world?
It doesn't apply only to USA. Most people around the world, think their countries are the best even when they haven't even visited any other ones. I do know once must/should love his/her own home, but that doesn't mean you have to consider every other place like a shitty one.

It's just a boost to their ego, if they live in the "best country" than that means they are part of the "best citizens".

well you can australia or usa is better than a country with poverty for ovious reasons. but we do try and help them. every country is the best in its own way, some countries have the best health care, some have the best education, but some have the little things like comunities and wildlife and forests.

Two words: National pride.
Its not a big deal, but its different for some. My cousin for example lives in the US, but he still considers himself Scottish and is quite passionate about it. Everyone has a different view on it.

Alot of people feel attached to their country and they use their patriotism as a way to boost their own self value.
