Why do a lot of people still marry with in their own race?!?

Why do they think "Birds of the same feather.." why not "Same = Boring"??! Are a lot of people subconsciously racist or something??! I know that it CAN'T be because of they're more comfortable with their own kind/culture, because well guess what?! We live in an AMERICAN culture!!

I would have just liked to see more race mixing that's all and I heard there are scientific benefits to the children when that does occur!

So any thoughts?!

Fear of being judged, most likely.

My whole family is racially mixed so we don't have an issue with it. But those who aren't used to it may not want to be looked at differently from others, including their own family. Just look at how much attention Prince Harry is receiving. Even more attention is focused on Meghan, which I'm sure hurts Harry just as much.

Some may say they fear their child would have "identity issues", but again, this shouldn't be a problem as long as the two families are accepting. The child can easily grow up with both or all three cultures and simply classify themselves as "mixed". It's beneficial, actually, because they get to view both worlds up close and personal rather than being nailed down to just one side. It's more so the issue of parents and families than the child itself.

It may be my personal opinion also, but I feel there's even more issues raising a child from a single ethnicity because they'll grow up in a world where it's easier to judge them compared to someone who is mixed. A half Asian half black guy (who sorta looks like Akeem Osborne- a biracial model) once made a joke where people would often question what he is. He could have fun and pass as just about or at least part of anything, but once he tells them "black and Asian", people are then mind blown and begin question things like "is it big? Or is it small?", whereas with a plain black or Asian guy, they pretty much already have that assumption. So some may say they could get away with a lot more things, dodging global judgments and criticism. Claiming a single race is the best, the worse, the richest, the poorest, the smartest, the most talented, or privileged, or beautiful, or culturally interesting etc. wouldn't be so derailing either because they'll only be part of the argument and partially not. Sounds crazy, but yah, it's why generalization is nonsense since anyone can jump from culture to culture.

We could also blame the media slightly for underrepresenting mixed families. I'm highly grateful to see a lot more on commercials now, but it's still an issue on TV shows, cartoons, and movies. On these forms of media, they show people often sticking to their own, which could make individuals grow up thinking "this is how it's supposed to be" which could cause some tension when they find someone from a different race attractive but hesitant due to societies judgement.

Here's a video of a few college students discussing their experience on what it's like to grow up as a mixed individual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq8-K5McrhA

Note, the area in which they grew up in (such as the city and school) could also place an impact on how they view themselves. Mixing races and cultures also are starting to become normalized with each generation and could actually help break stereotyping and the status quo. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. You can love whoever you want, Including people from a different race, so please don't hesitate to do so <3

Let people marry who they want. Forcing people together is not a good solution.

It’s average for people to be coupled to other people of same races because they

have the same racial appearances and human development indexes. They being

couples represent mutual adaptations that made their physical existences original

and possible. When people partake in interracial procreations, they create racially

mixed people who more likely to have identity issues or cause relation problems.

mainly because, scientifically, there is just one race of humans

Also, many other species never get old enough to consent and beastiality is gross

The bulk of "American culture" came from White people in Europe.
