I am Brazilian and I have Italian ancestry. Would I be considered white or mestizo in the USA?

    You’d be classified as “white.” There are only two classifications, “white” and “black,” which is applied to the American indigenous who were enslaved.

    I think "mestizo" means "mestiço" in Portuguese, which means "mixed race".

    I'm not an expert though since I am not an American.
