Citizenship question?
If one has a jewish grandmother (from mother's side), but is a muslim/christian jewish because judaism is not allowed as religion in the country, will he/she be eligible to get Israeli citizenship?
And another thing to ask, if he/she gets israeli citizenship, would his/her surname follows his/her mother (matrilinear)?

You can get Israeli Citizenship through the Law of Return if you have a Jewish parent or grandparent. It is not important if it is on your mother's or father's side and it does not make you Jewish - the Law of return simply allows each decendant of Jews (until the 3rd generation) to make Allijah. So if you could proof that you have a Jewish grandparent, you could get Israeli citizenship, but not as an Jewish immigrant, simply as an offspring of someone Jewish. So you could immigrate but would not considered as Jewish in Israel. For more detailed informations, go to the Israeli embassy in your country.

Judaism follows the maternal line. Your mother's mother was Jewish so that's the first step. Contact the closest Israeli embassy/consulate for more information.
