Romeo & Juliet ;English Assignment; need songs that relate to themes, characters, events, scenes, etc.?

the songs i have so far:

1. Love story – taylor swift (i don't think i will do this though because it's not very "impressive" as it is direct, and no hidden meaning, etc ,etc)

2. Penguin – Christina Perri (in juliet's perspective; how it mentions fate in the song and throughout the story)

3. A Drop In The Ocean - Ron Pope (romeo's love for rosaline in the beginning and how she doesn't love him which puts him in a state of depression)

4. Almost Lover - A fine Frenzy (um, i don't remember exactly what i thought about this but the fact that they were almost lovers, because the feud between their families caused them to kill themselves but im not sure about this one!)

5. Adele – Lovesong (from Juliet's perspective, saying "i will always love you" even when romeo killed tybalt, her beloved cousin)

6. The Beatles - I saw Her Standing There (first scene , when romeo saw juliet at capulet's party, etc)

7. There she goes - the la's (not sure about this one, if anyone can help me expand)

8. Runaway - Yeah Yeah Yeahs (when juliet drinks the poison; it's her last resort, her "runaway")

9. I will follow you into the Dark – Death Cab for Cutie (romeo killing himself for Juliet)

10. There for You – Flyleaf (when romeo gets banished from Verona; wishes that he could be with Juliet to comfort her)

11. Incomplete Lullaby – Lisa Mitchell (this could basically relate to Romeo and Juliet's tragic love story because it was "incomplete" and everything; but can someone help me expand with this one, does it make sense ?!)

i only need 10, so if someone can help me cut out one or give me better songs that would be amazing (: in addition, some of them i need to expand more so if anyone can do that, or simply give me constructive criticism as to whether my song choices are good than that would be greeeattt,

thanks again

Wine Red by The HUsh Sound perfect for the end when Romeo and Juliet are both dead

    http://youtu.be/T4n4HkxWK-o

Dante's Prayer by Loreena Mckennitt http://youtu.be/FDw3CyOmj20 it's a good death song.

Katy Perry - Lost good song http://youtu.be/Y86wHUigPZw

Ingrid Michaleson - Turn to stone http://youtu.be/1RPVp2HPMdo talks of how we must atone

Joy Williams- Speaking a Dead Language http://youtu.be/c8rQPF-qESU asks if we can ever go back.

Maria Mena -Monday Morning http://youtu.be/abMz7-Q-QyI the scene where Romeo must Leave at daybreak but Juliet tries to convince him to stay. The song says that Monday morning came too soon entering my forgotten room disguised as the morning sun

Kerli Koiv - Running Up That Hill (cover) http://youtu.be/EHfnRkLECvA when Romeo first sees Juliet dead OR even better when both families find their children dead.

those are just songs I like. I wouldn't use taylor swift because everyone else will probably use it.I had to do a project like this about 6 years ago. I used nothing but piano solos. But you could just use music by little known artists. Trust me your teacher will not like to listen to 30 cds with basically the same songs on them. At least listen to the songs I posted and make your decision. Good luck.

Source(s): Been there, done that. Got an A on that project. I also listen to a lot of obscure music.
