Just about every religion claims that they're "chosen" or "special" to their particular version of gods.

    That's nothing new or unique.

For thousands of years, with thousands of gods dreamed up by men, groups have felt that they were the only "true" religionn with the only "true" god or gods.

And, from the way that the Jews have been hated throughout thousands of years, and the many calamities that have happened to them, it doesn't appear that they are particularly favored or chosen by any deity----any moreso than any other religion.

And if they were "chosen," why would their god, if he's so powerful, allow the temple to be destroyed and defiled several times, and then a mosque built on its site?

If I were an omnipotent deity, and someone tried to destroy my temple, or to harm my "chosen" people, you can bet that I'd strike all of them with my mighty lightnings!

But what do I know? I'm not a god.

answer: perhaps you missed the mosque that is sitting on the site. Israel is committed to protecting sacred sites, regardless of the religion, even the mosque on the most holy site.

G-d said His covenant with Jews is eternal.

We'll let Him and the Messiah figure out the logistics on the rebuilding of the Temple when the Messiah becomes known.

"Chosen" means being responsible for 613 commandments, worshiping G=d and G-d alone, studying His word, working to repair the word, waiting for the Messiah/Messianic Age and having it harder than others. That's what "chosen" means - others aren't held to as my laws or responsibilities.

Old joke: "G-d! You chose us out of all the peoples of the world! Okay, what do you have against us?"

  • Oh yes, God's covenant with the Jewish/Hebrew people can not be broken. Not too sure about the temple, though.

Sure, God never waivers or changes...What he said on the first day for mankind still reins true today...But since that time, God also reminds us that Gentiles and Jews alike will receive his special blessings on earth..

Ask God if they are still His chosen people. I am unfortunately not His mouthpiece.

Many have faith that it will be built for sure. However no one knows the time to come.

God is not finished with the Jews yet. We are still in the time of the gentiles.

That is the event that signals the advent of the Messiah.

But Israel does have one or two things going on just now.

The real Jews are long gone. Jesus said to beware of the fake ones for a reason...
