There is no way to know if someone is infected without a test.

This is why you should never have unprotected sex, especially with a casual friend or stranger.

There are not signs that will tip you off, you must have medical proof.

The symptoms of HIV will not appear immediately.

A person infected with HIV may live perfectly healthy for up to 10 years before the symptoms appear.

However, a person who have just been infected with HIV may or may not experience acute retroviral syndrome one week (or up to four weeks) after the initial infection. The symptoms may include fever, feeling tired, rashes, pain in the joints, or swollen lymph nodes. And these symptoms may go away by itself about after two weeks but that does not mean the HIV is gone.

Another two dangerous infections your friend should be afraid of are Hepatitis and STDs.

Up until today, there is no known cure for Hepatitis, just like HIV.

It's best that your friend take the HIV blood test right now to allay the fear. Please ask your friend to go for a check up on Hepatitis and STDs as well.

Your friend will need to go to the hospital and get tested. He will need to prepare in the future to make sure that he uses condoms, but condoms also break. Usually people ask others for current test before they engage in sex. They want current proof from a hospital that a person has been tested and passed. It is a sad part of our society, whether anyone is gay or not. I hope your friend is fine, but he really needs to go to his doctor.

yes, true...the symptoms wouldn't appear immediately.

The HIV/AIDS is not a sickness by itself, but will appear in many other sickness caused by the weakening immune body system. The persons infected may later suffer from pneumonia, heavy cold etc...

    ...Ya don't.

Only way is to test him at a hospital.

And I can't sympathize him...'cause he should know better that he's supposed to use a condom.

If he's tested negative, I would like to punch him for being another guy who can't control himself and didn't think of the consequences (aka spreading diseases).

Then again...condoms aren't exactly 100% (but its still better than nothing).

There is no known way for telling. You may go for a blood test, but even that may give an inaccurate result .....
