HELP!! Horse shoeing question!?
Two weeks ago my i sent my horse to the horse trainer. The horse trainer got all four of my horse's feet trimmed. Then today she told me that my horses feet were tender and she needed to be shod on all four feet. It is gonna cost 65.00 for all four feet to be shod. Shouldnt she just be shod and not have her feet trimmed again. And do you think that she should be shod if im only going to ride her around on the farm?? I am not gonna show her or nothing. I think this horse trainer is ripping me off!

she over stepped . she should have consulted with you first and explained it to you. if you have her shod he feet will still grow and will have to be trimmed and re shod. the furrier took too much off her hooves and that is why her feet are tender .
find another trainer , she is probably taking advantage by drumming up business for the furrier at the ex pence of you and your horse.
let the horse rest till her feet grow out a bit then send her to another trainer. a good trimming Schedule is of benefit for your horse . but find some one who knows not to take off more than nessiary. if you are not on hard or rocky ground you really need not shod a horse.

If a horses is hacked out at the roads sure it demands footwear it additionally demands shoe if its paintings at house the one time a horse does now not want footwear is that if for a few cause it sore footed, now not ridden in any respect and is solely out in a discipline nevertheless it could nonetheless want its hooves trimmed each and every six weeks simply the equal as though it had footwear on,the horn of the hoof is like our nails it maintains to develop, if it will get to lengthy, it splits and can also be very painful for the pony to stroll on.
