Filipino traveling to Netherlands from Hawaii?

I found out that a filipino citizen living in Hawaii as a legal permanent resident alien needs a visa to travel to the Netberlands on vacation. The problem is that Hawaii does not have a Dutch embasy to apply for the visa. The closest embasy is in los angeles and you need to know exact dates of travel and show a round trip ticket . Its pathetic to buy a round trip ticket, fly to L.A. to apply for a visa and then have to wait for weeks on an answer to see if your application got accepted !

Does anyone know if there is a european embasy in Hawaii that could issue a visa (e.g. Germany, belgium etc..) And would then alow travel to the netherlands ? Or of any other way to go about this ?

The Embassies of foreign countries are located in the U.S. capital, Washington D.C.!

If you want to visit the Netherlands as sole or main destination or as country of first entry [if no main destination exist] you will need to apply for the visa in person and sign the application form before the visa officer of the Dutch Consulate in Los Angeles or the Dutch Consulate General in San Francisco.

A visa application in Honolulu is only possible if the main destination or the country of first entry is either Denmark or Italy.

There is a Honorary Consulate of the Netherlands in Honolulu, however it DOES NOT have the power to issue visa (as can be read on the link you have shown) and as reported by the Dutch Government to the European Commission.

GerdP Tends to do good research however there's a chance that he's wrong.

    According to http://sanfrancisco.the-netherlands.org/Config/Rig...

there is a consulate in Honolulu. It's marked in green on their map and that apparantly means

    Green Marker:

consuls that are not authorized to issue visas or passports. However they are able to assist US and Dutch citizens in some legal and consular issues related to the Netherlands. If you are unsure if a consul can assist you with your specific concern, please contact the mission that the respective consul reports to (e.g. consulate general or embassy).

So.. you could ask if there is a way to handle this without a trip. I'm sure you are not the only one with this challenge.

An alternative is indeed the other embassies mentioned.
