Worst draft mistake your team has made?

Im not talking things like oh they should have drafted Tom Brady before the pats in the 6th round.

Example: In 2001 the Bears Drafted David Terrell@ #8 overall and Reggie Wayne fell to the Colts @# 30.

The Colts 1999 NFL draft, for 2 reasons:

    1) The Ricky Williams trade. While the Saints eventually made the trade with the Redskins, the trade was originally offered to the Colts, but the Colts wanted Edgerrin James that bad, even though he would have still been on the board, just a few picks later, turned down the trade offer. Doesn't matter how much you like a player, when a team offers you basically 2 years worth of draft picks, you make the deal.

    2) The Marshall Faulk trade. The Colts traded Faulk who wanted out for a 2nd and 5th round pick. With the 2nd round pick the Colts selected MLB Mike Peterson, who was pretty good, but they were unable to keep him beyond just 3 seasons before he left as a free agent. The 5th round pick was a marginal player in DE Brad Scioli, who only lasted 6 seasons. The Rams were able to keep their 1st round pick, which they used on Torry Holt, and Marshall Faulk went on to become the NFL MVP and a 2 time Offensive Player of the Year winner.

I'm a Redskins fan. I would run out of room had Washington not traded away so many early picks.

But as for first round choices since 1991, here are the duds.

1991 Bobby Wilson DT (17) did very little

1992 Desmond Howard WR (4) did a lot better with other teams

1993 Tom Carter CB (17) lacked speed to match up against a good #2 receiver

1994 Heath Shuler QB (3) returned to Washington but as a congressman

1995 Michael Westbrook WR (4) pouted and beat up Stephen Davis for no reason

1996 Andre Johnson OT (30) lasted only one season with Washington

2001 Rod Gardner WR (15) never became a reliable receiver

2002 Patrick Ramsey QB (32) never seemed to be able to read defenses

2004 Sean Taylor S (5) great player but was murdered during 4th season

2005 Carlos Rogers CB (9) good cover corner but terrible hands

2005 Jason Campbell QB (25) used ineffectively by coaches

Did you ever heard of some guy named Herschel Walker? That gives you a hint.

Trading Randy Moss for Napoleon Kauffman and a 7th pick that became Troy Williamson is a distant 2nd.

My team, the Patriots. I don't remember those from 2nd round and on picks but Chad Jackson and Laura Maroney are probably the top 2 that I said ....... very disappointed.
