What does this poem mean? (poem analysis)?
Please help me on my poem analysis, it is for an english assignment. If you could give me a clear understanding of the poem, e.g. what the poet is trying to say or what some lines mean that would be excellent. Thanks in advance :D
Stream Of Life by Rabindranath Tagore
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.
It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.
It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.
I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment
Also include some poetic techniques the poet has used, please. thank you so much :)

This is one of the best poems giving expression to Tagore's mysticism. According to the Mystic belief God is immanent in everything around us as well as within ourselves. As such there is unity in all the diversity you find in this world. Thus in this poem the poet feels one with all of God's creations and affirms that the ultimate source of life is one and the same though the forms of creations are many.
The life that pulsates in his blood and induces the joy of life in him is the same throughout the world spreading joy and an ecstacy of dance.
The life giving force that prompts the barren earth to put out tender shoots that grow int innumerable blades of grass and beds of flowers is also the result of this secret joy.
The never ending cycle of birth and death symbolised by the waves of the ocean too is an expression of this life force.
The poet attributes his life and energy to be flowing into his body from the universe and feels one with the one life-source---God.
Poetic techniques---
1 stream of life---metaphor--life regarded as a stream in flow.
2.Dances... --personification.
3rhythmic measures--metonymy---rhythm, an associated idea is used to denote
4.It is the same life--repeated--anaphora.
5 shoots in joy--personification.
6 Alliteration--same stream, runs rhythmic.----look for more
Look for assonance too

The poem is about the interconnectedness of being: the same life in the poet's bloodstream is to be found in growing things, in the rhythms of the ocean (which themselves mirror the rhythms of life and death), and in the history of life on earth (this is the meaning of the last two lines). Technically, the poem is written in unrhymed free verse. The word 'life' is used in every stanza as well as the title, indicating the centrality of the idea, and the theme of rhythm is similarly repeated throughout.

Your question is about to close... However, this is an interesting poem, albeit one I'm not familiar with! If it's by an established/published poet, I suggest to refer to something like SparkNotes, or eNotes for a detailed analysis...Good Luck!

His theme is "the magic feeling of existence," sort of like Walt Whitman, which your teacher would probably like referenced in comparison if you suspect your teacher is gay, if not, just use the "The Author is Waxing Romantic about the existential feeling of awe we experience from time to time about the whole nature of being.
