Wearing Opposing Team's Jersey at Citi Field?

I'm going to the Mets vs. Braves game next month... and I'm a Braves fan. I want to wear my jersey but my seats are behind the Mets dugout.

Question is, how tolerant are Mets fans? I know they're not as bad as Yankees fans, I was at the Mets/Yanks game a days ago and people were throwing stuff at Mets fans.

I am a Mets fan and I would like to tell you that most of us are just fine with fans of the opposing team coming out (the Braves are actually liked much more than the other NL East teams). The ones who would heckle you are either drunk or complete jerks. Have fun!

I think Mets fans would be more worried about how bad their team is and the ownership problems rather than a Braves fan. As far as I know, the Mets and Braves don't have an extremely fierce rivalry, so you should be ok.

You might not want to wear an opposing team's jersey to one of these games, however:

    Yankees-Mets

    Yankees-Red Sox

    Phillies-Mets

    Cardinals-Reds

    Cardinals-Cubs

    Brewers-Cubs

    Marlins-Nationals

    Giants-Dodgers

Giants-Padres (Not as bad as the rest)

Any game between the White Sox, Twins, or Tigers (They really hate each other)

    Angels-Dodgers

    A's-Giants

I might have listed a few too many, but those are just a few games you should be careful about wearing the opposing team's jersey to.

Mets fans are pretty tolerant of Braves fans. Unless you make a racket and constantley knock on the Mets fans, you should be fine. The only fans that the Mets fans normally have a problem with are the Yankees and Phillies fans, probably because they're so loud. And plus, you're near the field, if you were in the upper deck, you might run into more of a chance of being picked on, but since you're near the field you should be fine.

It's a rivalry for sure, but it's nothing like wearing a Cards jersey in Cubs territory, Yankee jersey at Fenway, or a LA Dodgers at a Giants game, or vice versa. In such a scenerio, bulletproof vests should also be reccomended along with the opposing team's attire.

    Could be deadly.....I don't know.

Seriously though, what do you think? People go to games with the opposing team's jersey ALL THE TIME! The only reason fights happen is because people start insulting others. People don't care, for the most part.

Since there will be 25 players, plus the manager and coaches wearing their own Braves jerseys on the field, you will probably not even be noticed. If you think otherwise, don't wear the jersey.
