What is PCOS? in the medical form...?

keep in mind I am deaf,

recently I went to gyn doctor for period cycle was flipped up, I had interpreter there (not the best one too) to get the diagnosis on what i have, apparently I get much information until I got the referral paper and I read the paper and I saw this PCOS.... I researched it for a month now I see so many different informations.... I don't really understand... I like to have someone who give me a direct information what PCOS really meant!

    It means you have a hormone imbalance. Your body makes too much testosterone, and not enough estrogen, and you also have insulin resistance, which means that your body does not respond as strongly to insulin as it should. So it has to produce more and more insulin just to have the same effect. That condition can lead to diabetes. Not definitely, but your risk is raised. As for having too much testosterone, it means you may have more hair growth on your body, and you may gain weight. You may have irregular or no periods. And a series of small cysts will develop on your ovaries. These cysts are usually not dangerous, but it also means you may have trouble getting pregnant.

    The standard treatment is to put you on the drug Metformin, which will make you less insulin resistant and may help restore your hormones to normal, meaning you can get pregnant. They may also give you birth control pills because they too will make your hormones more normal.

    PCOS is pari cystic ovarian syndrom and its a problem with your overies and it also causes (sometimes) iregular periods.... This all i was told hope it helps a little
