Should I use "would" or "will" in this sentence?

When I was a child, I used to dream about what my life ______ be like in the future.

    because you are talkng past tense (when i was...), you have to use the past tense word here, would.

    You can use 'will' in the following context:

    I will no longer dream about what my life will be like when I'm an adult.

    When I am an adult, I will no longer dream about what my life will be like in the future.

    (in the future) is redundant (not necessary) because it is already stated, 'will be like', which indicates future.
