Why am I always playing songs in my head?

Even if i'm not thinking about it, there will always be a song stuck in my head and I always have the urge to sing it really loud. Obviously I don't do this in public places but if I don't start singing it annoys me, it's like I need to get the music out of me by singing it. At home I am always singing, songs will just come to me, even if I never even thought that I knew the lyrics. Sometimes it's songs that I have recently been listening to , but most of the time it's songs that I haven't listened to in like 3 years and I somehow remember the exact tune and lyrics. Does anyone else get this? I'm not that good at singing either. I have a pretty good voice but i'm not amazing. and I don't like singing in front of people.

It happens to me too!! You're right it's either recent sings I've been listening to that are stuck in my head or if I hear or see a word that I relate to a song, I'll be singing that song, or if I'm in public it'll be in my head- but sometimes it's just a random jumble. And yeah, today I had a song by Busted in my head- I haven't listened to Busted for years and years!!! And now here I am thinking about the colours in her hair again... :p

I always have a song in my head ("and I can't get it out of my head...") and it usually expresses how I feel at that given moment. Sometimes I do sing it out loud ("now my old world has gone for dead...") and sometimes I just hum it to myself ("hmm hmmm hmm hmmm, no no no no..")

It means you can hear your subconscious mind more easily than others which is a great thing in a poet. It's not so good for an oral surgeon though.
