R&P... Good morning, are you ready to be a snobby music critic today?
Hello there, my lovely rock and poppers! I woke up this morning, feeling about about today and just about every other day. I don't know why, but I just feel so optimistic. But anyhoo..
I introduced an idea way back, talking about how R&P should rate, review, and critique their own music instead of reading other people's biased opinions! Why not read reviews on things that our friends on here have and try out things for ourselves?
So... here's the deal: Today is R&P's Snobby Music Critic Circle Day!
-> Here's what you do:
1. Choose a song, genre, band, album, WHATEVER! This is open to anything you want to talk about and rate! :)
2. Tell your opinion on that certain musical thing you chose. Don't hold back ANYTHING!
3. In the end, rate out of your own scale.
And lastly,
4. Look at your other fellow lovely rock and popper's ratings on things you might want to try out, or some things you've already known or heard about! This will be interesting! :)
So... have fun! :)
P.S.... Snobby music critic tone IS optional, but CAN be fun!
BQ: Did you enjoy this?
If yes, fantastic! Can't wait to see you at the next snobby music critic circle ;)
If no, rats bats! What can I do to improve or make this better?
BBQ(yum): How was your day today? (if it's the morning for you too, got any anticipation of how today will churn out?)
Enjoy, and thanks so much for participating!

sadly some snobby music critics have already gotten my bile raging today.
That would be the "Fans" of Classical music, who seem to think that because they are connoisseurs of
"Art Music" that they are smarter, better informed and more the like than all around them.
In fact, the genesis for this is found here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah4vX...
is the basic tenet of his question and rant (along with Ian E) technically correct? Certainly, but as always it is layed out with total black and white clarity, a very common mentality I have found of the constituents of that section, who seem to feel that snobbery and elitism are mandatory to the music (not that they are alone in this, I know my share on knuckleheaded Metal lovers, for instance)
As for the rest, I am kind of lost, sorry Indian Dotter.
BQ- Umm... sorta, except I know I did not do it right.
BBQ- Getting ready for work.

Morning Dotter! Though it is now afternoon, lol
I shall give you two examples, a negative and a positive review
Negative: Nickelback - All The Right Reasons O Stars
"Possibly the single most hackneyed, vomitious, excreta of plastic sheepleworshippery ever voided by the music industry. If this is what 60 years of Rock boils down to someone should have aborted Chuck Berry and Elvis before birth."
Positive: Manowar - Battle Hymns 5 Stars
"Oh My God, what a debut. Battle Hymns is assuredly one of the very greatest debuts in Heavy Metal history and incredibly instrumental in the shaping of what was to become Power Metal. Battle Hymns is terribly influential. It's also a fantastically great Heavy Metal album, it's the sound of a hundred rampaging bloodthirsty Visigoths bent on more pillaging and partying than can possibly be imagined, and all captured on one glorious album. The combination of Ross The Boss's snarling Guitar and Eric Adams soaring four octave range vocals is nothing less than Heavy Metal magic. And the songs, it's amazing how anthemically incredible some of the songs on Battle Hymn are. Death Tone is pretty much the greatest Metal Biker song ever, and Manowar is nothing less than an anthem for the ages. And you can't even put the sheer majesty of Battle Hymn into words. If your a Metalhead, you must own this."
Those are my actual album reviews from Rate Your Music.com
BA: Certainly!
BBA: Not too bad actually

My Album for review:
Blue Cheer-Vincebus Eruptum(1968)
http://www.allmusic.com/album/vincebus-eruptum-r21...
This Group started Heavy Metal basically out thin air with this album. Every Song is great and as you can see on allmusic it is Heavy Metal, Blues, Psychedelic all rolled into one....in a matter of 6 songs! Most people know Summertime Blues and that song went to #14 on the charts and is best played at high volume but Second Time Around features one of the craziest drum solos ever and Doctor Please is 7:53 but doesn't seem like it because the song doesn't linger at all. This is an absolutely essential album for ALL Heavy Metal/Hard Rock lovers, but I wonder how many fans of those genres actually own this?
Best Played(In Car, Outside,at home)
Anywhere Outside or in Car where you can blast it to 10 and P-off your easy listening friends!
Rating(1-5):
5 Stars
Song for review(and correction)
Buffalo Springfield-For What it's Worth
Yes what a great Anti-War Song!......Too bad this song isn't Anti-War. What you say? Yes this song was written about the Sunset Strip Riots and despite being played on numerous Vietnam War Videos on Youtube and being misidentified countless times by DJ's everywhere. Stephen Stills wrote this about the unrest on Sunset Strip.
"A Thousand People in the Street, Singing songs and Carrying Signs"
"You step out of line, the man(Cop) come and take you away"
Well that's all I have for now I can always edit later ;)
BQ:Immensely
BBQ: Great! Can't wait for 3 day weekend!

Hey Indian Dotter
I will review my favorite album of all time...
"Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan"
The first time I heard this album I loved it, the second time I loved it even more. Now it proudly ranks #1 as my favorite album of all time.Dylan recorded "Blood On The Tracks" in 1974, when his career was faulting and his marriage to his first wife "Sara Lownds" was on the rails and would eventually end in June 1977 when Sara filed for divorce. This album is called the "Divorce Album" ten songs filled with Dylan's heartache, loneliness, frustration and anger. None of these emotions can be felt more than in the song "Idiot Wind" where Dylan shouts the words "I can't even touch the books you've read" but even for it's anger it contains some of Dylan's most beautiful songs, like "Buckets Of Rain" and "If You See Her Say Hello" it also has one of Dylan's most interesting stories, "Lily, Rosemary and The Jack Of Hearts" a song stretching to nearly 9 minutes, in which Dylan narrates a tail of lust, jealousy, heartache and murder with the Jack of Hearts being the main focus point of the song. This album is very consistent with no bad songs. Blood On The Tracks was an immediate success when it was released in 1975, after a string of poorly received albums, critics saw this as Dylan's comeback album.I give this a album a perfect 10/10, not because it's my favorite album ever but because it deserves 10/10. Any album with "Tangled Up In Blue" and "Simple Twist of Fate" on it, is at least a good album.Blood On The Tracks is a timeless record.
(key track) Tangled Up In Blue.
BQ:I did very much so :)
BBQ(yum) It was ok, I went to college and did lots of work. How was your day Indian Dotter?

Buckethead
An amazing guitarist. He was the first "Guitarist" music i listened to, and i started with the best. Known for his song on Guitar hero 3 "Jordan", which is usually the most people that listen to of his. It is known that his music is centered around his riffs and solo's. The solo for "Nottingham Lace" is the fifth fastest solo of all time. But his music is not all shredding, which i dislike from artists such as Yngie Malsteem. Songs such as the ones from Electric Tears are amazingly beautiful pieces of work on the Acoustic Guitar. And songs such as "Soothsayer" so his emotion in his playing. And as for stage performances, after awhile of listening to his music, you will forget about the name and getup and realize that Buckethead is an hugley under- rated guitarist.
Music: 9.5
Creativeness: 10
Preformances: 8.5
Shredding: 10
Acoustic work: 10
Overall: 9.5
BQ: Yeah, i actually really did
BBQ: Ok, nothing special

Critics are very annoying. They never know what they are talking about, have little info on the band, or arent even fans of them, and they usually just make me angry. However, my newspaper reviewed yesterday's Hannah Montana concert, and what they did was have kids write paragraph reviews, and have a page of that. it was great! ive never seen so many exclamation points in my life. the article was titled "In A Word, Hannah Montana was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... it was pretty cute, despite that fact that they're are all spoiled brats.
