Are there any chances that a graduate school overlooks a pre-req?

Hey guys, i'm trying to apply to a graduate program now that i finished my undergrad. However, when i finished my undergrad i wasn't thinking that i would ever apply to this program in the future, however, now that i am i'm missing ONE pre-requesite class. I'm trying to avoid having to go back to school to take just that class. I do have a lot of other classes that they "recommend" for their perspectives to take.... again, just missing that pre-req. Have any of you ever heard of a graduate program overlooking one pre-req, for whatever reasons, maybe extra classes or anything?

Thanks!

Depends on how desperate the grad program is for students. Call and talk to someone in your proposed department (NOT the grad school office). Ask if you could be admittedly provisionally (which happens a lot) until you take the course that required.

Some graduate schools will overlook a class if you take it over the summer or during your first year in the course - this may be a form of conditional acceptance. You should talk to an academic advisor at your school to find out what is and/or is not allowed. It will also really depend what sort of graduate school it is, how big it is, how competitive it is to get in, etc.
