A police officer lied on a supporting deposion?
I received 3 tickets and the officer said I committed the crimes on may17th I mailed in the request on may 10th got the response in the mail may 20th(about) and received the ticket on April 23rd. The officer obviously covered himself by lying about the date (he probably did not draft one on the actual date). How can I get him charged with perjury?

FORT WORTH -- A former Fort Worth police officer, one of nine accused in a traffic ticket scandal, was indicted Wednesday on 12 counts of tampering with a governmental record and one count of theft by a public servant.
Herman Young, 46, is accused of entering false times on 12 traffic tickets and receiving more than $20,000 in overtime for hours he did not work in 2008, 2009 and 2010, according to the indictment
Tampering with a governmental record is a felony punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail. Theft by a public servant is a second-degree felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison
The inquiry eventually widened to include eight other officers.
Allegations include that the officers issued tickets during normal duty hours but indicated that they were issued while the officers worked overtime under the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant.

You could file a motion of discovery. Ask for a copy of the tickets you got as well as the ones before and after in his book. If you are telling the truth it the dates will be inconstant as the tickets will be numbered. If you go to court let the cop speak first. Ask him what date he issued the tickets. If you can then show otherwise then you can prove he was wrong but it may be an honest mistake. I wouldn't say its perjury, I'm sure theres a logical explanation for all of this.

You can't
cops are notorious liars.
Source(s): I am a retired police officer. I retired as a sergeant, after 29 years, from a very large department, about 12,000 officers. I was a patrol officer for 4 years in a very diverse area. I was a tactical officer in the high rise project areas of my city. We called it vertical patrol in that we walked the the stairways of the high rises most of the time. I did that for 5 years and was promoted by test to detective. I worked violent crime (homicide, sex, officer involved shootings, robbery, kidnapping, serious non property incidents) for 11 years until I was promoted to sergeant. I worked as a street supervisor, a bicycle patrol supervisor and a desk sergeant/watch commander. During my time as a tactical officer and a detective I was a unit representative for the police union. I have a B.A in English and an M.S. in Law Enforcement Administration..
