Is the U.S. Government getting rich?

Since the price of gold is $1500/once and the government has truck loads of gold at their Fort knox facility, why aren't they rich?

Update:

Menard K ;OK if they have to pay it out, don't they have much more than they had to pay it out?

The U.S Government is NOT getting rich.

When calculating net worth, you must subtract your liabilities from your assets.

When Uncle Sam does this, the bottom line is trillions in the red.

Its really not that simple, for one thing, Fort Knox really doesn't have all that much gold,

we have been shipping it out to pay debts to people who refuse to accept paper.

(like the middle east OIL producers )

The only ones getting rich are the WAR PROFITEERS & the GREEDY BANKERS!

    WAKE UP AMERICA

    its later than U think!
