Any suggestions to getting my teen in healthier shape if they aren't interested?

They don't care to be active- They see us being healthy and active, so being a role model isn't affecting the matter in a positive way-at least now it isn't. Does it really take a special person in their life to make another want to take better care of themselves? Even knowing that there are genetic health issues in the family doesn't make them want to be healthier.

If you child got to the teen years without having a deep appreciation for health and well being instilled in them accompanied by the knowledge and wherewithall to be and stay fit, then you're probably too late to make a difference. It's really going to come down to your relationship with them and how willing they are to listen to you and follow your advice.

That said, you might want to check out this website. Be sure to bookmark it and use it. It's been recommended by the US National Institute of Health and has tons of information for kids, teens, and parents --> http://teenshealth.org/teen/

    Good luck and good health!!
