Squeeze organic lemons (if you can find them) into a glass along with some water. Use a fine tooth comb to apply and sit in the sun. (Use sunscreen on your skin) ★

Before my hair turned to silver, it was dark blonde. My sisters and I (all dark blondes), would use lemon juice to get hilights and such. After washing our hair, we would rinse it in lemon juice (strain out the pulp and seeds). Then we would sit out in the sun until it was dry. Th stronger the sun the better. Unfortunately the results were not consistent. In the winter, it did not help much at all. Have you heard of "summer blondes"? That was what would happen in the summer. The high lights were stronger, Results were good enough that we continued to do it for years.

In the summer I sometimes do this and I put regular lemOn juice in a spray bottle and spray the areas of hair I want slightly lighter. (do this outside to air out the smell.) I found that sun-in works a whole lot better and smells way better too. Hope this helped.
