$458.60. 13 dogs, 9 different types of food.

I have 13 dogs, and I don't feed them that Pedigree, IAMS, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Alpo, Old Roy, Purina One, Royal Canin Crap. There should be no corn, wheat or animal-by-products in ANY animals food. Corn is just a filler, and cannot be properly digested. The first TWO ingredients should be REAL meat.

    1) If you have the two pugs you should already know how much it costs. 2) I have no idea how much cheap crap costs per month because I am a responsible pet owner and buy food that is actually good for my dogs. 3) If i had to guess Id say ( my dog food is $32 for 30lbs. Id assume cheap would be somewheres about 20. My dog eats between 2-4 cups a day, the bag lasts a month. So 30lbs should last you, at 2cups a day, roughly 1.5 months. So this is roughly $15 a month. This seems really cheap so who knows if Im right. You should really get the good food. Your dog will live longer and you will have less to clean up in the yard.

Call your dog's name (once) and treat him when he looks at you. After awhile, praise most of the time and treat occasionally. Learn here https://tr.im/4p1q5

Start inside, then work your way outside on the leash. Let him sniff around and call his name when he seems focused on something else. Treat and praise if he looks at you, take him inside if he doesn't. Keep doing this ( for weeks/months - real training takes time) and work your way off leash. Eventually your dog will stop what he's doing an focus on you when you want him to.

The problem that most people have with teaching a recall (come) is that they only try to do it when the dog is doing something far more fun than performing the command. You have to teach the dog that coming to you when you call is the very most fun thing he could do. Go outside with a friend and a big bag of treats split between you. Go about 10 feet from eachother, then take turns saying the word "come" once and making a HUGE deal of praising him with each step he takes towards you, then treat and praise even more when he gets there. As he gets better, work your way further apart. When he's mastered that, include other distractions like other dogs or noisy toys. Keep making a HUGE deal of praising him when he does it right, and he will learn a flawless recall.

I spend about $120 on food a month now, two 30lb bags. I have a 2 year old Aussie and a Sheltie puppy and I live in a small town where there are no pet stores within 50 miles (Petsmart, Petco, etc) NOWHERE to get decent Dog food - so I have to order their food online from Petsmart or Petco, depending on who is having the better deal at the time - so I have to pay for 60lbs of shipping. Also have to get 2 different kinds, puppy and adult

  • Around $50 dollars for last month because I still had enough from the last bag. In June, their food will be changed and it will be around the same price. Teensy will have her own bag and Taylor his own bag as well. For my turtle, only $17 every 3 months. My dogs eat twice a day and my turtle eats twice a day. I'm being careful not to over-fed my animals. lol!! Both last quite a long time though. Up to two months for dogs because they eat different portions, sometimes they don't eat a full bowl. My turtle will eat as long as you feed it, red eared sliders are famous for being greedy.lol!!

ADD: I am stocking up on canned dog food in June. Maybe I'll buy 2 boxes of 24 cans. Trying not to run out of food for my animals. haha.

EDIT: Maltipoo owner-less than $10. Your dog must be small and the only one you have. lol!! If I just had my small dog, minus the others, mines would be just $12 a month because she doesn't eat much.

I THINK I'm going through about a 35# bag a month (my puppy is 6 mos old and I can't remember how many bags of food I've bought since she came to live with me about 4-1/2 mos ago)...at approx $41/bag (Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul - Large Breed Puppy)...

As the first poster mentioned, I don't feed anything the supermarket's carry...I'm considering adding Innova or Orijen, but haven't done so yet...

I spend about $75 on raw meat, bones, and organs each month for two Labrador Retriever. Each meal costs about $2-3. I don't feed my dog kibble. My dogs eat prey model raw. When I switch to organic it will be costing me around $110 a month.

I spend about $40 every 2-3 months for dry dog food. Canned food: Less than $20/month.

  • Around $130/month.

I have a 125lb Bullmastiff, a 17lb Cavalier king charles spaniel, and a 65lb German Shorthair pointer who all eat Orijen.

we pay 40 a month for dry and over a hundred for wet food for one spoiled dog.

    I pay $65 for a 30lb bag for Orijen.

Ridiculously expensive, but it is the only thing that works for all three of my dogs.
