It is certainly a different world Thomas, and there is no going back.

While technology is changing faster than one can blink, also the philosophies of people who lead us are changing too. Those who once were by the people and for the people now seem to be all about personal power and control!

I think the miracles we have witness in inventions , is astounding!

When I think of what my grandmother seen in her lifetime and my parents and now me. Well it is Great.

However ,I never thought the political world would be in such turmoil. It is unbelievable that a person can be President with the doubt that he is legally an American citizen. I always thought they checked them inside out and upside down before accepting them as candidates. The bills that are being passed that no one wants and have been deemed to be unconstitutional are ignored.

Never thought I would see a president that had the morals of an Alley cat!

I can't believe what they are doing to SS. I wonder How long it will be , before they want us to pay more back to them then what they send us!

It seems to me that there is a great lowering in standards in terms of consideration for others and honesty and simple decency - the same things that my father used to complain abt when he was my age - - - so, maybe it is just us getting older, crankier? - tired of the wastefulness in the society - and maybe having the perspective to see what a wonderful place this could be if $$ were not spent on wars & silliness... maybe w/the information age we have more awareness of the corruption that likely always existed - Police used to buy their jobs in NYC many years ago.

I guess I too am weary - I won't connect a TV because I don't want to leave the news on in the background. I try and spend more time w/friends and family and nature... thats my personal answer.

Leadership in all areas is worse. A lot of training and talk about ethics in corporations, universities an govt. agencies, but the ethics they are teaching is one-sided and little or no compassion for employees. I think that greedy and powerful people are ruining this world and don't care who's neck they step on to get to the top and get $$$.

Today the children have more rights than parents. Everything is centered around the children. It teaches them to be self centered and have no respect for parents. Parents have no rights in their own homes anymore. When I was growing up, we had one tv, and when Dad got home you watched what he wanted to watch. You sat down and ate what was on the table, not an extra dish prepared by mom because you don't like what is on the table. Our parents didn't ask us what we wanted to eat, you ate or went hungry. That teaches you to try a variety of other foods that kids today haven't even tasted.

Horrible. In every way except for civil rights. The manners, the vulgar language in public by women and men, the selfish attitude, the aggravating electronics, more street violence and drugs, the children in need, sexual abuse, financial deregulation, elevation of show people to importance, the lack of common sense, self-reliance and judgment of people under 40, self-help groups, welfare dependence, no milk in bottles, computer-driven society, need for materialism, credit cards, emphasis on trivia, the over-blown importance of youth.

Worse definitely, as a result of our sinful human nature. I hope the Lord returns soon to straighten things out.

As the world's population continues to grow, the natural resources (like fresh water and rich land for planting) become scarcer. The air and water becomes more polluted. Our food becomes tainted with chemicals, Our wild animals are having their homes taken away...many are endangered or have become extinct. There are cruel, and greedy governments that seem to have become worse. Huge corporations have taken over many governments, in the name of $. We have all but eradicated many diseases, however new strains are popping up daily. All this, and more, add up to the world being worse.

However with access to people all over the world now, we find that more and more people are becoming aware of world problems. People are beginning to unite to make world wide changes. We still have time to make positive changes starting with how we raise our children and grandchildren, ensuring they grow up knowing the importance of taking care of this earth, being kind to one another, and denying corrupt governments from taking over.

    It's much better!

Political comics have a lot more material to work with.

The high price of gas makes it easier to choose to stay home, thus reducing smog levels.

300 tv stations with nothing on makes channel surfing more challenging. It may become an Olympic sport.

It's been discovered that most processed foods are poisonous to us. So grocery shopping is now like tap dancing in a mine field. But that's ok because dancing is a good exercise.

Every day feels like uncharted territory along side the path which is over-trodden by fools. It's difficult to decide if I should live more by instinct or trust that information being fed to me by way of technology. There is too much information being blasted at us and much of it is misleading.
