Hey there, my lovely friend!! I LOVE this question, and as a fellow Pumpkins fan I'm sure you'd understand why. ;)

I loved Gish so so much... favorite song from it was, of course, Rhinoceros, but Snail came close. What about you?

My top 10 and WHY... (I've never actually made a top ten before, I guess I will today!)

    1. Luna [Siamese Dream]

My favorite song of all time... and it became that way because of the name. I was always fascinated about the beauty of the moon and all the folklore and stories that go behind the magic of the moon. As a kid, I used to use the name Luna, Moona, etc. when I wrote stories and I would create superheroes that used "moonpower". Luna reminded me of my childhood and how happy it was, and it's the most beautiful song I have heard to date. It's my future wedding song, and I am so in love with it. ;)

    2. (hard to decide, but...) Soma [Siamese Dream]

What a song. When I first bought Siamese Dream, I listened to Cherub Rock a lot and I stumbled upon this classic. It starts off sleepy, and soft, but erupts into confusion, anger, and bitterness in one grand masterpiece with a smattering of soaring guitar riffs and a heartbreaking solo. This song is my best friend in musical form.

    3. Cherub Rock [Siamese Dream]

I have only one thing to say about this song: This song convinced me I could FLY.

    4. Rhinoceros [Gish]

This song made me wonder why it wasn't an icon of the 90's. Although the repetitive "she knows" part may bore some, I find it wonderfully pretty. This song gives you some sense of glamorous wondering, making you think about what "she knows", and what Billy must lie to her about. "Open your eyes, to these must I lie..?"

    5. Tonight, Tonight [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness]

I can never ever get sick of this song. I remember I used to be in orchestra when I was in 7th grade and we got to choose what songs we wanted to play. Sadly enough, I didn't know about the Pumpkins back then, otherwise, I would've definitely forced my orchestra to play this song.

    6. By Starlight [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness]

Tell me that you don't like this song and I will immediately know that you have no heart. This is one of the sweetest songs I have ever heard, and it broke my heart when Billy Corgan announced that "Stand Inside Your Love" was the only true love song he ever wrote. It made me beg him inside of me that that wasn't so...

    7. Thru the Eyes of Ruby [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness]

Wow... what a great song! It gives you a sense that you've travelled to a different world, and it burns up into a phoenix of a great song. I honestly hated it at first, but now I want to slap my past-self for even thinking that thought.

    8. Galapogos [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness]

A recent addition, I realized how beautiful this song was while I was STUDYING. Doesn't it remind you of a gentle tide slowly rolling in as you watch the ocean at night with a special someone?

    9. Zero [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness]

This makes me want to blast back to the past and shoplift one of those Zero t-shirts. "Emptiness is loneliness and loneliness is cleanliness and cleanliness is godliness and god is empty, just like me..."

    10. Today [Siamese Dream]

Suicidal Ice Cream Truck Driver. That's all I've got for ya. ;)

(even I'm not sure if this is my conclusive top 10... hrrrm)

BQ: Siamese Dream. It's my favorite album of all time, and the first I've ever bought. I am very proud of that fact of my life. :)

BBQ(yum): Although I do like Cherub Rock's video, I give props to Tonight, Tonight. (and I actually find Billy attractive in that video, haha.)

Source(s): good people, good influences, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS!!!
