Is Hell (She'ol & ) really a place of eternal torment, considering ...?

Question

Job 14:13-15, Ecc. 9:5,10, & Psalm 16:1 with Acts 2:25-27, 29-32 (last texts apply to Jesus)?

Job 14:13-15   -13 “Oh that You would hide me in Sheol, 
That You would conceal me until Your wrath returns to You, 
That You would set a limit for me and remember me! 
14 “If a man dies, will he live again? 
All the days of my struggle I will wait 
Until my change comes. 
15 “You will call, and I will answer You; 
You will long for the work of Your hands.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 -For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten...10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in SHEOL where you are going.

Psalm 16:1 -For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; 
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

Acts 2:25-27, 29-32 -  For David says concerning Him [Jesus]: 
      ‘ ...You will not leave my soul in Hades,
      Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead [David was unconcious in Sheol or Hades] and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, 31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus, God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.

It is not a place of suffering, a loving God would not create such a place. "The dead know nothing"

No .. considering God is the most merciful .. why would He create a place of eternal torment?
 
There are hellish planets where souls who have misused their free will have to go for a period of time to receive equal reactions for every bad action performed... this is the law of karma. You may get away with hurting someone in this lifetime, but after death you have to face the consequences. Then again we are given a chance to live our life in free will...

The whole point of going to hell is the hope that we learn from our mistakes... by God's mercy we forget the mistakes we made and the punishments we received for them, but the lesson learned remains in our subconsciousness like a child who learned in his early age certain social etiquette and although he may forget the experiences, the lessons remain with him.

If we do not make advancement in our spiritual lives, then we risk again becoming attracted to impious activities, degrading ourselves into doing the wrong things, thus repeating the whole cycle of birth and death again.

Sheol/Hades is not the same as "Hell".  Sheol/Hades simply refers to the realm of the dead wherein spirits dwelt before Christ's resurrection. It was divided up into a place of peace and a place of torment.

(See Luke 16:19-31)

After Christ's resurrection, the righteous dead moved to Heaven.  The rest await judgement where they are.
