Logo printing green? Any help will be appreciated?

I've scanned a logo (simple b/w image) for a guild I'm a member of - when printed directly from the program it was created, it's perfect. When I insert it into OpenOffice alongside my header it prints green - the rest of the text is black as intended. I've done everything I can think of, ie. going through print properties etc. changed it from a .jpg to a .gif, tried inserting through other avenues such as copy and paste, any ideas, suggestions? I've recently resorted to printing the document, then putting it back through the printer to get the logo - but they never line up the way I want it! Help! Many thanks in advance

Update:

jusme - thank you but I've tried that too

Change the setting in your printer to print mono or grayscale only. When set to this it will not use the colour inks to create black.

You can save the image to a 2 colour bitmap... it usually can be done even with Paint (in Windows)
