10 year old daughter watches CSI: Miami?
Should I let her watch it, I've seen a few episodes and was fairly disgusted with the morals and actions that were displayed. She is genuinely interested in it though. I found out today that she got an older child in her school to buy her season 1 and she gave him the money. I found this out today when she told me, I still haven't found the DVD however. I've searched all through out the house and still can't find anything.
I don't want her watching a show like CSI: Miami as it is intended for those over 15 and not 10 year olds. I've stopped giving my daughter money but she said that the older kid would give her the DVDs for free anyway since he has the original DVDs and can just burn them and then copy them onto blank discs. She has ways of viewing them at school as well, she can watch it with her friends at the playground/library and etc.
Should I continue to let her watch it, it's her favourite show and is one of the only programs that she watches. Even if I stop her from watching it, she has other ways. She's allowed 4 hours of TV a week, two of those are CSI Miami and the other two hours comprise of Drake and Josh re-runs, Spongebob and Sunrise (morning breakfast program). My son's rules on TV are a bit stricter, he's 8 and he is only allowed 2 hours a week of only shows I approve of. I don't watch tv a lot, but for some reason my son adores/admires and possibly loves Kim Kardashian, whom I have never even heard of.
What should I do?

I'd be more worried about your 8 year old watching Kim Kardashian than your 10 year old watching CSI Miami.
At least CSI Miami has some redeeming qualities in that a good bit of the science shown is based in actual real-world forensic science (obviously very heavily dramatized for TV, of course, but it has it's basis in real life).
Kim Kardashian is just a spoiled rich whore some idiot gave a reality show to. She's a *slightly* smarter version of Paris Hilton (and like Paris, she has a sex tape floating around the internet, so you might want to make sure your 8 year old isn't looking her up online, or he might run across some things he *really* shouldn't be watching).

My daughter is almost 11 and very mature for her age; no way would I let her. Mine doesn't like gross stuff, but even if she did, there is too much mature content, both verbally stated and insinuated; prostitution, sex, drugs, infidelity, nothing is held back. My husband and I love it, but it would just be too much for my kids. I have talked to her about these things, but the images are just too graphic and not appropriate for her viewing.
EDIT. banning a 10 y.o. from CSI hardly constitues as "sheltering", come on now, don't be silly. There is jsut a time and place and 10 is young. Of course these comments came from 15 y.o., no surprise there. Sure, 15 is probably fine for these shows, but 10 is NOT 15. Don't take paretning advice from a teen who sounds mad at the world and would run away if she didn't get her way. Not sure how she can pull them library; not in our kids section. And friends house? I don't know any 10 y.o. who watch it.

It's a sign that she's an intelligent child. It's actually very educational, and teaches children about forensic science. Many of the shows that are directed at children show even less morals and actions, such as Hannah Montana.
I'd be more concerned with what your son is watching. Kim Kardashian is a shallow, drunken, superficial moron.

I'm 21 and from my view I think you should not allow her to watch it. Be strict with her from the age of 10. Maybe when she's 13 you can let her watch it because a child's 13, you can NEVER control them as it is the start of a teenage life. Sure CSI:Miami has a lot of disgusting things. But when the child grows big, you do not want her to learn bad manners, do you?
Be A LOT STRICT with her and by 13 leave her a little loose. Thats how my parents did it and I became a good child. My parents are proud of their parenting and also really proud of me because when I was 10 I was interested in sex and stuff. A LOT. My mother noticed it and she scolded and punished me really badly. I took my revenge but it didn't work because it was just too much. So I gave up. By 13 I was a better kid and also kind of promised myself I wouldn't think of such things.
So i guess you should be strict with her. Hope this helped.

Let her watch it :)
Honestly i have been watching law and order, CSI MIAMI, Numbers.... all those shows and im 15.
Ive been watching them since i was .. bout 8
Sure, some episdodes are a bit .. disgusting
but they show her whats reallly out there and to be cautious
those shows interest me like they are interesting to her and she might even decide to be apart of the legal system one day. ?!
and Kim Kardashian is that rich chick in america... not sure why she is rich tho :P

You should let her watch it because it's interesting and could teach her a bit about forensic science which could help her out in science lessons later on in life. Only 4 hours of tv a week seems a bit harsh.

im 15 and if i was your son or daughter i would be running away from home you cant shelter people even kids from reality and the more strict you are now the wilder the kids going to be when they are older i hate parents like you because i had a parent like you
