almost 21 weeks pregnant and weight gain?
So I'll be 21 weeks on Thursday, and I got weighed today and I've gained about 18 lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy, I feel like that's way too much for how far along I am.... I know the average amount of weight gain, and I've read in the last trimester, you gain about a pound a week. So am I gaining too much right now? Someone help, I'm not gonna restrict from eating because of the gain, but I still am concerned if I'm putting it on too fast.

At first i wasn't gaining anything then when i hit about 16weeks I started gaining 6pounds a month. I ended up being at 25pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight at 30 weeks but then I started to only gain a pound every two weeks. I'm 36weeks now and only 29pounds over my normal weight. So what I'm trying to stay is don't worry to much it'll even itself out in the end. Congrats.

If you aren't eating junk it should even out. I started to slowly gain at 16 weeks, but 22 weeks I gained 9-10 lbs, then the weight started to come more consistently I am 31 weeks now and have gained 19-20 lbs and will probably gain another 9-15 lbs before I deliver. You usually tend to gain most weight in the second half of the second trimester and the third trimester.
Some women will gain more in the beginning less towards the end, but generally (for most women) it tends to pack on more steady after the 20 week mark. Every woman will gain differently, some will eat super healthy and gain 50 lbs, you will gain what you need and as long as you aren't over eating too much and making healthy choices it should come off easily afterwards. Good luck

Well, it's not as bad as me, I swear I gained at least that much in the first few weeks just from celebration dinners! :) You average 0.85 pound a week, keep up with this pattern and your weight gain will be over 35 pounds by delivery. If you were small before you were pregnant then it's really not a horrible amount to gain, but try to slow the gain down a little if you can. Sounds like you may need to get up and move more.
