I fell in the bathroom and face planted on the bathtub knocking my front adult tooth back....?

I immediately pushed tooth back in with my tongue and went to the dentist the next day. He said that its back in place where it should be and he will watch it to see if it dies and do a root canal...this was 4 days ago and i am still in extreme pain. I have been taking aleve and ibruprofen but its not helping. He also said that my tooth might change colors. :( How long will this horrible pain last and is there anything they can do if the tooth does change colors?

    Hi

You should see another dentist, if the tooth came right out it is going to need root canal, as the tooth will die, an infection sets in (abscess) this will require antibiotics, please go an see someone else, good luck

If you are worried you will need a root canal, your best option would be to see an endodontist, a dentist with at least two additional years of advanced specialty education in diagnosis and root canal treatment. They will help alleviate your pain and give you the best treatment possible. To find one if your area, visit Find an Endodontist at www.aae.org/patients.
