How unhealthy is it to have a piece of pencil lead (granite) stuck in you finger for over 2 years?
I forgot how it happened, but one time in class I got a piece of pencil lead stuck in my thumb. It went in pretty deep and I tried to take it out with tweezers. I got most of it out thinking I got the whole thing out, but a month later I noticed a small black dot deep in my thumb. Its been over two years and it hasn't really dissolved or attempted to come out by itself, is it harmful to have granite #2 lead in you body over long periods of time. If its not really life threatening then I guess I'll just leave it be.
Thanks for any contributions.

Pencils have graphite in them, not granite. As far as I know, it's probably not a big deal if your finger doesn't look infected.
