How are you planning to look when you 80 and how will a tattoo ruin that?
I guess a lot of people must plan to become bikini models after retirement. As far as I am concerned when I am 80 I plan to look my age (or if I am lucky pass as being 70) so if I have a couple of wrinkled tattoos I doubt that it would the the only factor that would stop be being considered an Adonis at that age.
Does anyone here seriously believe that a tattoo will be the one thing that stops you looking gorgeous when you reach old age?
I would love people's opinions :)

Yes, that is an argument against tattoos which often confuses me. These people obviously have rather skewed ideas about how a typical 80-year-old looks.
I'm planning on looking like a pirate when I'm 80, extensive tattoos will only aid the lie. My intention is to convince my grand-kids that I plundered my way across the oceans and leave it to their parents to tell them otherwise.

Seriously how many 80 year old bikini models do you see... I have grand parents that are in their 80s and 90s. If I take care of my self I'll probably be living to around or beyond that. I have few tattoos and I don't plan on flashing them at that age. I don't plan on thinking about it until I get to that age but I most likely won't be dressing like a teen. Most elderly people are pretty covered up. Honestly who cares about a couple of wrinkled tattoos, if they care that much then you don't want to know them. I'm 34 and most people think I'm still in my 20s, I plan on being a cool granny with tattoos.

I don't believe that a tattoo would be a factor in whether someone looks gorgeous or not, no matter what age (unless the tattoo was done poorly). The skin, however, simply the health of it, matters. When you are young, you are most likely to have firm, smooth skin if you are healthy. However, in old age, no matter what you do to try to make yourself look like you're 20 or somewhere along those lines again, when you are 80, you will most likely have the skin of an 80 year old. That skin is not like the one of it 60 years ago. It will most likely be wrinkly, perhaps even flabby, whether you had excess fat at an earlier age, and old age has turned it into flab, and now, at age 80, it would most likely be wrinkly flab. No matter what, your skin will most likely be wrinkly, even a little bit. Unless your skin is extremely wrinkly, I do not believe a tattoo would be a problem when it comes to being "gorgeous", or it would have a little effect. However, if you do not take care of your health, fat turns into flab, and flab will turn into wrinkly flab. If a tattoo is on that, the tattoo could become disfigured, and won't look as attractive. However, whether there was a tattoo there or not, it wouldn't seem too attractive anyway.

Unless I'm walking around in a bikini at 80, nobody will see mind anyway.
Should I happen to look good enough at 80 to wear a bikini, then I must have taken really good care of myself.
Nobody looks fantastic at 80 - I'm not particularly worried about my tattoos.

Firstly, if when I'm 80 the only thing I have to worry about is how my tattoos look, I've done alright for myself.
Secondly, I doubt I'll live that long. I drink too much for that.

I don't know why everybody is worried about what a tattoo looks like when you are 80--God doesn't give a written guarantee that you will be alive this afternoon, much less 80+. Live it up.

well many ppl will get over it since there will be millions of old ppl w/tattoos in the future, it will be more acceptable because everyone has em'
and wow ms. trish s you are an ignorant and shallow person its just like saying that you have disgust for not so attractive looking ppl, its the same thing ppl who have tattoos are normal just like you. so that makes you the person to be disgusted by in this situation not the ppl who have tattoos(because in fact you are the evil person just by saying that). sorry i cant stand when ppl say ignorant things...you loathe them pfff silly girl
