weekly allowance for a teenage girl?
this question is for anyone to answer really... but preferably teenagers and parents of teenagers! :) anyways... my questions are:
1. what do you think is a fair weekly allowance for a teenager between 13-16???
2. what would be the weekly requirements to keep this allowance?
3. if you are a young teen... what is your allowance budget?
keep in mind that... i am a pretty good kid... i keep straight A's, (sometimes B's...) i never get into trouble... i help out along the house... and for a while now i have been doing the chores for our cat. (i.e. litter box, food, etc.) i clean up after myself... keep my room clean... do some stuff around the house when asked. Another thing to keep in mind is that my parents have decided i buy my own clothes. (using babysitting money, etc.) I am really into fashion and things... so they say i don't NEED clothes. which is true... but at this point i am having to buy my own socks, bras, shoes, new clothes for school... etc. and this is pretty hard working with a 14 year old's income!! ;D anyways... i would realllyyy appreciate any answers. i want to ask my parents about this.. but don't want to seem bratty or spoiled or nagging. thank you!! :)

I never received an allowance when I was a teenager so this is kind of hard but at your age you really shouldn't be needing much of an allowance your parents should be buying your clothes etc. I take care of a 16 year old kid a lot who loves to goto the movies and stuff and hang out with friends so I can empathize with that.
1. A weekly allowance should be not only based upon what you do around the house, but also your grades in school (not really meaning just you but in general for all kids) your attitude, and how well your do with your actual chores, and your timeliness in completing those tasks without having to be reminded or constantly told to do them. $20 a week given your babysitting jobs and your parents should still be buying your clothes your technically too young to have a summer job so they shouldn't be putting the burden on you.
2. Your requirements to keep the allowance would be like stated above; keep your grades up, watch your attitude, completing your chores in a timely manor.
3. I'm not a teenager anymore, but when I was your age any money I received for doing any jobs for neighbors or anything went to my grandmother who kept all of my money in a savings account this started when I was 10 years old, and when I turned 18 she showed me my savings account balance which had grown substantially from $5.00 at the age of 10 to well over $5,000 when I hit 18. So the biggest share of your money should go towards savings. Figure out what you really need, for school and stuff, don't be wasting money on useless things like you don't really need 10 different pairs of shoes, you don't need a drawer full of earrings, etc.

1. I'm not sure but I think anything between $18.00 and $25.00 would be good.
2. Clean your room everyday, help with your siblings if you have any, and just help around the house whenenver you can, and don't get into any trouble...
3. I'm 14, and I don't get an allowance, but I do work part-time and I make about $75/week.

1. Maybe $15-20.
2. Clean your room and the bathroom, do your homework, listen to your parents, etc.
3. I'm 16, and I get $20 per week, but it's not a set thing. Sometimes I don't get any allowance, and some weeks I get $40. :P

1)Ehh maybe a dollar per chore per week.
2)Do the dishes, mop and vacuum, take care of pets, take out the trash, some yardwork, whatever,
3) I don't get any money cause I just flat out don't do anything. Sorry, but I am just being honest.

You dont NEED beauty items and I'm sure you already have clothing! Deodorant and hygiene items I can understand but makeup is NOT necessary (you cant wear it forever) and Family Dollar has shampoo for $1. Think about what you NEED and not the things you just want.

1. some cash here and there
2. there are no require ments
3. i didnt have an allowance... i asked for money... and kept the change.... a mom.. i need lunch money... i need cash so i wont starve at this track meet... the key is to not spend it all.. and save some for later.
my mom would hand me some money to buy gas.. and if she didnt ask for her change.. back.. she aint gettin it back.
then there were those random times... when my father, or uncles.. would slide me some money... just becuase... they feel its not good to walk around broke.
