Saggy Pants Ban in a Free Country?????

In a Free Country should we be making laws to enforce a "dress code"????

And if you really think about it why didn't they try to ban Young Girl's wear low-riding jeans and having their thong underwear hanging out?????

Same thing right??? One is showing their underwear and the other is too right???

So where was the outrage to ban showing your thong and bra underwear in public? Why just target sagging?

"They'll mess with our freedom. Pretty soon they're going to ban dreadlocks, too," said Cory Shelby about the saggy pants ban.

Shelby, 29, recently was told to pull up his pants before boarding, even though he said his black cargo shorts were not drooping enough to be distasteful.

"They told me I had to pull up my pants," he said, "And my boxers weren't even showing."

City Councilman Frank Moss has said the saggy-pants look hurts the ability of young people to land jobs.--------What?!?!?!? We are talking about ppl in public sagging on their own free time!!! Not going to a Job interview!!

Violators in some parishes face up to six months in jail coupled with a $500 fine for underwear exposure.

What happened to our First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression? It’s unconstitutional to dictate a fashion battle.

Just for the recorded i do not sag or like sagging......Its not my thing. However I do not believe the Government Should be outlawing a Fashion Fad.

What say You?????

Wearing baggy jeans has been around for along time since the late 80's. They are just deciding to do a ban on it now. I'm surprised. Personally i think guys look better when their jean fit. But if young men prefer to wear baggy jeans then oh well. I'm surprised that someone hasn't come up with a Jeans that mock this look so you don't have to show your undies but still look nice. i think a lot of people don't know that these young guys are wearing two pairs of undies do you don't see any thing swinging out.

Also a bit of trivia. This look started in the prisons the B*tch would have to wear his pant low to show his status. Why men want to look like they are easy rape victims i'll be know but more power to you.

Why not the same outrage at the ban of cigarette smoking in public places such as restaurants and bars. That is more outrageous as a private business owner should have say as to what happens in his or her private business.Or outrage at the patriot bill?Kids getting sent home from school for wearing a patriotic American shirt? How about Obama care...being jailed for not having insurance.Where is the outrage for that?People are only upset when it is something that affects them other wise they are more then happy to lose a freedom. One freedom leads to another.Saying that,i hate seeing peoples under ware and am sick to tears of people tripping over there own pants.Pull them up already.

  • I agree.(Even though sagging pants is uber gross) I think this is setting a dangerous precedent. What's next? Banning women who show cleavage? Banning people from wearing unflattering outfits. Freedom really isn't free...

Same reason that male homosexuality is banned in many countries and strictly enforced but female homosexuality is not.

Cause men are ruling the world and women are hot and should wear mini skirts and tank tops all the time.

I think it's unnecessary, but I also think it's not a big deal.

They aren't banning them altogether, just on the public bus.

As far as you mentioning banning girls' low-rise jeans, well, that's a step over the line. Those are the only things that make riding the bus tolerable in the first place.
