How much money would this type of lawyer make? (see details)?
My father is a corporate lawyer at an extremely well-known NYC law firm specializing in M&A. He works with big-name energy brands. About how much money would he make annually? I'd ask him myself, but he'd never tell me. And please, I am not looking for a sanctimonious speech about how money isn't everything and my father's payroll doesn't matter.

If he's a partner sharing profits it could be several million per year.
If he's not a partner it's a lot less than that - anywhere from $145,000 or so for a brand new lawyer to maybe $600,000 or so. It varies a lot.
You can find the average salaries at specific firms online if you want more accurate information.
