Why do people want to substitute health professionals with the internet?

eg. People want random internet plans rather then hiring a personal trainer, people want random diagnosis than see their doctor.

Update:

If you value your health you would pay for it, and you would save a lot of time by consulting someone who has been studying about your problem/goal for years.

What do you mean? i understand and can answer the first part but the second clause is not logically structured to convey your point.

Diet and fitness doesn't require professions! It just requires knowledge, you can do a lot as the consumer to control what you put in your body, you do not need a professional dietitian to create a complex diet and fitness plan to get in shape. HELL i agree they are the best people to consult but there are MANY books out there that explain the human's dietary needs...

People need to take control of their diets! They need to educate themselves and realize they CAN do anything if they try.

As for Random diagnosis are you referring to made up diseases such as restless leg syndrome or ADHD? If so lets not get into it because it's BS.

Or do you mean people that use sites like WebMD? If so then many people cannot afford to visit their physician for every sniffle, bump, bruise or nose bleed. Many people are too proud to visit a free clinic and it's a shame because there's only so much you can do without a medical degree and it is very little on the real.

Source(s): GOOD LUCK and hope this helps! you're question is a complex one that explores many negative (in my opinion) aspects of western culture such as fad diets.
