Slidell Louisiana is really really nice! I would reccomend checking it out

Slidell is NOT NICE and quite boring!
Go to New Orleans or St. Francisville and stay at plantation or stay on a houseboat in the atchafalaya! Louisiana has so many planations any of them would be nice to stay at!
Also you can stay at Oak Alley in Vacherie. Breaux Bridge is another choice as it is crawfish capitol of the world and june is the last month of crawfish season. http://www.oakalleyplantation.com/
