What part of Austin is 78752?

Hey that's my neighborhood! It's called the Highland Neighborhood.

Here's what we have that is great:

* A commuter rail station that goes downtown and back during commuter hours, and occassionally on weekends during events.

* A terrific bike line that goes all the way to the University of Texas in about twenty minutes

* Some fantastic restaurants, it seems a lot of asian restaurants, but fantastic

* The intersection(s) of I-35 with 183 and 290 - meaning quick access to downtown, the suburbs, and beyond.

* A transitioning population - from mostly retirees ten years ago to now mostly young parents of toddlers

* Housing that is both affordable and "urban"

And the not-so-great

* Four strip clubs in one zip code is a bit much... although the Yellow Rose is a national landmark

* The crime rate is higher than the rest of the city. However we don't have a lot of violent crime in Austin. I'm talking about petty ****, like people ripping up your entire dashboard just to get your $40 after-market stereo.

* Highland Mall is 90% empty now. It has changed hands a few times. ACC (Austin Community College) is the current property owner, however they do not have any plans to move in yet.

And the truly awful

* The schools. If you have kids, get in line as soon as it opens to send them to another school in the district.
