Is the Christian God an Atheist ?

An Atheist does not believe in a higher power where a Theist does. Provided that God is the Alpha and Omega as he claims . Then there is no higher power than himself in which to believe in. Logic would dictate that God must be an Atheist .

Oh and God believing in himself does not qualify as theism.

Update:

unfortunately I am not surprised by the responses .

You're making up your own rules, are you? The Webster's definition of an Atheist is a person who does not believe in a God. Well, guess what? Jesus the God/Man does believe in Himself. He proved that when He was a man on earth and praying to God the Father.

2Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

God is God and therefore cannot deny His own existence. There is noone higher than Him but, then again there is no need to be.

That's stupid. Are you trolling? Man came up with the term "atheist" and "theist". Call God whatever you want. God is God. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending. The King of Kings. That is what God is.

You get to pick the questions, but not invent the language.

Yahoo requires that questions be posted in a language that is

proper for the category/forum in which they are posted.

Since this is in an English language section,

the questions and answers must be in English.

God believing in Himself DOES qualify as theism.

That is how the English language works.

If you don;t like that, don't blame me - I didn't invent English.

God surely is NOT an atheist.

    I am Roman Catholic.

    Peace be with you.

an atheist is a person who doesn't believe in god. god is god so why would he not believe in his self? your question is sorta kinda...well stupid. and played out as I've answered this question like 20 times already.

You're being silly. I do believe atheism is not recognising the existence of ANY God.

God obviously recognises himself as God.

I think you need to get a dictionary and look up "atheist and "theism".

Christian God believes that he himself is a god, which perfectly fits definition of LaVeyan Satanist

    well let's see:

WE created god, at which point he created us,

so in a way WE created us, making US god!

And I don't know about you, but I sure as hell believe in ME. So technically... I'm not an atheist because I believe in ME. Seeing as how I'm god.

    make sense? XDD
