Why is it that some christians on here are so offended by a rational answer that they have to block you?

Christians are not looking for truth or intelligence.

Consider that they believe the first "sin" that was committed was when man "ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge". How can any group profess to be looking for truth when they blame all of human suffering on seeking knowledge?

A dissenting opinion is fine. How you express that dissenting opinion makes all the difference in the world. If you respect my views, you'll get that same respect from me. If you're consistently snotty, sarcastic, or insulting, I'll hit a point where I'm just not going to bother with you any more.

In any case, it's the fundamentalist Christians around here who are best known for their hate spew and bigotry. Fundies tend to be the ones who want to silence the opposition, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the type of Christian who blocked you.

If i report a question, it is because it is a genuine insult. name calling, criticism, stuff like that. that's not just atheist, i have reported Christians to for name calling or criticism

I would not be easily offended. I want the truth and I have found it ( you can disagree if you like). Most people are not strong in their faith and cannot hand themselves wisely when someone disagrees with them. Also these christians are just as sin prone as yourself, so they too have human qualities and being a christian does not make them a super person as we are all fallen. We as christians are to have an answer for the hope in us, I suspect this person doesn't have an answer and hides due to either lack of faith or is just being childish.

I've never seen a complaint like this (from either side) backed by a transcript of the allegedly "rational" answer. I've seen some backed by admissions to some of the most awful personal insults imaginable.

It's up to you to phrase your answers in reasonable enough tones that you don't get blocked.

I don't understand the point of blocking. I have blocked someone before, and their answers and questions still show up. What's the point of blocking if you still have to see the tripe someone posts if you don't want to.

As far as being blocked, I did have to giggle once. A person posted a question and I answered it from my viewpoint and it was a nice, sensible, logical answer (I try to play nice because I'm one of the Christians here). They deleted the question, blocked me, and reposted the question so that I couldn't answer it. I did laugh a little about that.

Not only are they a christian but a human being. Some christians are sensitive just like some atheist are sensitive. It's doesn't necessarily have to do with religion as it does the INDIVIDUAL.

I think you want another excuse to call Christians Hippocrates. Yes, No, Maybe?

Because the truth offends many people. That is the only reason I can see as to why someone would block someone else.
